The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy is an international alliance of cities and local governments with a shared long-term vision of promoting and supporting voluntary action to combat climate change and move to a low emission, resilient society.
In 2018 the Wellfleet Selectboard voted to adopt the covenant. The committee has been working to implement the plan. Our first step is to complete a town-wide inventory of greenhouse gas emissions. The next step is to develop a plan to reduce these emissions and then to implement the plan and measure the results.
